Moving a Piece of Furniture from One Location to Another. What a Mover Needs to Know

You've been looking in the classifieds for a secondhand dining set, bookcase, extra freezer, etc. Or a someone you know has just offered you a their sofa. Regardless of the item, you need it moved from Point A to Point B and you need a mover to do it.

To get a quote from the mover about moving furniture or appliances, they need the following information

📦1. What needs to be moved?

📦2. Where is the item(s) located?

📌address📌floor

📌elevator building or walkup

📦3. Where is item(s) being delivered?

📌address, floor, elevator or walkup

📦If the mover needs a building code or to be let in, a phone number of a contact is needed. This is needed for both pickup and delivery.

📦Where should the mover park?

Is it street parking, driveway, or a parking garage. If there is a gate, someone needs to open it.

📦How is payment made? Cash, credit card, bank transfer, Bit or Zelle.

Once all these questions are answered, schedule a time with the giver/seller, recipient/buyer, and the mover.

It takes a little coordinating to work around everyone's schedules but that is how the process goes.

Be sure you've cleared space for your new acquision. After it arrives enjoy!
