It's now considered חורף (choref=winter) in Israel because Sukkot has ended and the Hebrew month of Cheshvan is beginning. In Israel winter gets rain, not snow.
Do you know where your umbrella is? Raincoat? Boots? Favorite sweater, blankets, cozy items?
As the season changes do you have tissues on hand, medicinals for allergy and cold relief, your favorite hot beverages in the cupboard?
Everything in your home needs a place. Once there's a place, there's less stress, less chaos, more serenity because you know where things are and what needs restocking.
💡I can't tell you specifically where to put something but here are some general suggestions that may be useful for post-Sukkkot cleanup as well as winter:
📌Have a container for each holiday. Put all the decorations and things utilized for the holiday together.
example: My Sukkot box has string lights, decorations, timer for the lights, zip ties, and twine.
📌Keep all the holiday boxes in one area, so my Sukkos boxes hang out by my Chanukah box and Purim box. They live on my machsan (storage room). Other places for these out of season items may be a basement, attic, under the stairs, top shelf of a closet.
📌Have a summer container. Gather up all the household's swimwear, googles, pool paraphernalia, beach toys etc.. Put it away until next season. If something is needed during the year, keep it out or buy an extra. If Junior wears swim goggles I'm the bath, then keep a pair in the bathroom and have another in the summer box.
The winter things need more accessibility than summer things.
📌Put things where they will be used. Using the umbrella example options may be your backpack/pocketbook/deep pocket of a jacket/near the entry or exit to the home/in your car/near the jackets
📌Have an area in your kitchen for hot beverages. Keep teas, coffees, cocoa, and sweeteners together. Have it in proximity to the water source and/or the mugs.
📌 Keep medicinals, herbal remedies, and "apothecary items" easily accessible. Make note on a note pad or list app what needs restocking. With some preventative maintenance you'll have on hand what you need before you need it. You'll thank me for this. 😁
Wishing you an organized and Healthy Winter .
